I was on Facebook earlier today and saw this promotion that one of my friends had shared. I checked it out and just a few minutes later I have two free tickets to visit the Portland Art Museum this coming Saturday! Neither of us have ever been and since visiting new museums in on my 101 in 1001 list this seems like the perfect opportunity.
If you are interested in seeing what might be available around your area, visit here and find out!
Today I am officially 101 days into my 1001 days of my Day Zero Project. The idea is that you pick 101 things you want to do within a 1001 day time frame. If you would like to see my complete list and read some more details about it you can do that here.
I have completed 10 items on my list! Hooray! We took a road trip a few weeks ago and completed 4 things just in that trip alone! Here is a quick picture that I took when we were on the ferry (number 44) from Bainbridge Island. If you look really hard you can see the Space Needle, which we had visited the day before (number 47), in the background between our heads. More on the fun trip we had to come!
Here are the 10 that are finished! There are some less than desirable items on my list, but all of these were fun (and delicious) to complete.
#23-Visit Olympic National Park
#24-Meditate daily for 30 days
#35-Plan a family road trip
#44-Ride a ferry to an island
#47-Visit the Space Needle
#55-Take Taelin whale watching
#79-Tye dye t-shirts with Taelin
#83-Light off fireworks…myself
#86-Order cupcakes to be delivered from Georgetown Cupcakes
#93-Find a vegetable Taelin likes
I also have 4 goals that are in progress. I have started all of these but they aren’t quite finished.
#8-Take Taelin to 5 different museums
#43-Make my scrapbook area actually usable
#51-Find 5 new places to hike
#100 Complete a reading challenge

Last night I was on my phone with my sister, trying to figure out some details about a road trip that my little family is taking. We have a few scheduled stops (the places we are going to be sleeping because I don’t want to be looking for a hotel with a tired kid) but I was freaking out a little about getting around, what we were going to do, how we were going to meet up, etc, etc, etc. I was making myself crazy. I want the road trip to be fun. I want us to enjoy the time together and discover some cool things on the way. Continue Reading
It has been over a month since we (Taelin and I) have been back from Montana and I am just know getting to this post. Disgraceful! One of the stops we made on our last day was the Yellowstone County Museum which is actually located at the Billings airport. Continue Reading
This is the face of a girl that just realized that the delivery at the door contained 12 cupcakes from a bakery across the country that she knows from a reality t.v. show. She might have been a little excited.
We are lucky to live in a such a beautiful state with so many wonderful opportunities for finding fresh, local produce. Taelin and I have picked strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries this summer and after eating our fill, have frozen the rest to use throughout the year. Fall will soon be here soon enough and apple trees will be drooping with their juicy fruit which means apple cider doughnuts and pie…and homemade applesauce. But I will admit that every year since living here, I have noticed when driving past orchards on the way to pick up pumpkins that there were hundreds of apples just rotting away and thought about what a waste it was. It is no secret to anyone that knows me even a little that exercise is not my thing. When I was a kid my legs and feet were all jacked up which made me the kid that couldn’t run or skip. I often found myself standing alone when teams were being picked for whatever barbaric game we had to play in gym…Red Rover and dodge ball were my least favorites. I wasn’t good at it so why on earth would I do more of it? As some kids played sports, like baseball and basketball, I read and played the piano.
I have been a list girl for quite some time. I love making lists and crossing things off. If I am feeling stressed or overloaded with too many things to get done, there is nothing that helps me more than making a list.
I have also been a wanting-to-start-a-blog girl for awhile too. However, I couldn’t on earth imagine what in the world I would blog about. Enter…Charlie Capp, my soon-to-be brother-in-law. Last week, when looking at his blog for an image from a card he had made, I noticed something I hadn’t seen before. He had a list of 101 things that he wanted to accomplish in 1001 days. Do I need to say it again? There was a list. I went to www.dayzeroproject.com. There were a lot of people that had made lists.
