We certainly had more than our fair share of April showers last month. I don’t have any numbers to back it up, but I have to believe that we broke some kind of record for consecutive days of rain. We had a little break in the weather last weekend and so we decided to hit up the Wooden Shoe Tulip Fest. It was great to be outside and have it actually feel like spring.
Besides just looking at the tulips, they have a lot of activities and photo opportunities. This one might be one of my favorites.
Seriously, how adorable are those two!?! We have had Pepper since February and she is seriously the most chill dog. Taelin has loved these cut out picture things from the time she noticed them and usually Joe would get the honors of joining her but he didn’t make the cut this time.
I used my new-to-me camera lens to take some pictures of Taelin. She hasn’t had school pictures yet this year (and with only 5 more weeks I am not so sure it is going to happen) and it has been awhile since I have taken any photos that feel a little more formal. The colors of the flowers were just amazing!
There is something amazing about all the rows and rows of colors but honestly, I love looking at individual flowers a little bit more. Before going to the festival a few years ago, I really had no idea about all different kinds of tulips. There are tall and short plants and a huge variety of petal types. Who knew!?!
Taelin didn’t go without her own camera on our adventure. Look at her crouching down to get the shot. Atta girl!
Because the flowers were still looking so great, the Tulip Fest has been extended through this weekend. We are supposed to have another nice weekend so if you get a chance, go and check it out!
